Danevue
Birmans
was founded in 2003 by Mrs.Elli Thyer.
I
am assisted by my husband Hugh, who is charged with the lesser fun jobs
of cat
breeding (I’ve made him the litter tray cleaning expert!)
I became
besotted with the Birman when I first saw one in the mid
1980’s at a friends
house. Her mother,
Mrs. Coryn Sheerin
was a Birman breeder and after seeing and spending time with Birmans I
knew I
just had to have one.
I
started
breeding Birmans after I purchased my first show quality female kitten;
Nikilem
Matuce and have successfully shown her to the title of Bronze Grand
Champion. I
thank Coryn for giving me the opportunity to own some of her renown
exceptional
quality Birmans when she gave up breeding, and furthermore for giving
me the
“pure line Birman bug”.
Coryn is the
reason I am now a passionate fully fledged “pure
line” Birman breeder and her
guidance and support is, and has been invaluable.
To us, owning and breeding Birmans gives us not
only the
opportunity to enhance the Birman breed by producing exceptional
quality pure
bloodlined Birmans, but also the opportunity of sharing this incredible
breed
of cat with others, who too can experience what true and utter pleasure
it is
to own, or rather be owned by the Sacred Cat of Burma.
We are registered breeders with the Feline
Control Council
of Victoria (FCCV) and are members of the Sacred Cat of Burma Fanciers
Association of Australia.
Aim & Objectives
Aim:
Preserve
and
perfect the original foundation Birman bloodlines whilst being THE BEST
Birman
breeder.
Objectives:
- Only
breed from show quality Birmans (if the Birman does not meet show
standard it will never be bred from – I do not believe in
breeding from “Breed Quality” Birmans as this is a
lesser standard to show quality and you’ll never enhance or
perfect a bloodline by compromising for second best!),
- Breed
from THE BEST Birmans (in type AND temperament) we can find to give
adoptive parent(s) THE BEST Birmans they will ever find,
- Provide
the utmost care for our Birmans and maintain our exceptional high
standard (refer to home page for an overview of our standards) by never
compromising our Birmans quality of health and life,
- Our
beloved Birmans are our pets and will always be treated as such with
lots of love and attention
